This advertising campaign for Swindon estate agency Richard James was a whirlwind to shoot. The idea behind the “Spend Locally” concept was to create a campaign that was mutually beneficial to the client and to small business owners who operate in the areas in which Richard James sells properties. Over two days, we photographed at least 33 local businesspeople in 15 different locations across 4 different towns. As you can imagine, that was a lot of setting up and breaking down of equipment, and a lot of fast talking with a lot of different subjects to try to get the best out of them for their portraits…whew!
Of course, all that variety wasn’t without its benefits when a few people let us sample their wares, including a brilliant gin tasting courtesy of Magnum, delicious tapas from Los Gatos and a to-die-for steak platter from Kenzo 72, all in Old Town Swindon. (As if I needed any more reasons to love my job…)
